Alberta pension regulator extends filing deadline for Fort McMurray plans

Alberta’s Office of the Superintendent of Pensions has given pension plans located in Fort McMurray a two-month extension to file their annual information returns and audited financial statements.

The former deadline was June 30, 2016, but now pension plans affected by the wildfires have until Aug. 31, 2016. Plans affected but administered outside of Fort McMurray can contact the superintendent’s office to request additional time, as can plans requiring time beyond Aug. 31.
