Aon Hewitt adds to investment consulting team

Aon Hewitt has made a number of additions to its Canadian investment consulting team.

Calum Mackenzie, who will move over from Aon Hewitt’s office in Britain, will lead the organization’s central Canada investment consulting practice. He has worked for Aon since 2007 in a range of roles, including senior investment consultant, senior strategic consultant and principal consultant.

Catherine Ann Marshall joins Aon to head Canadian real estate research. Previous roles include assistant portfolio manager at the British Columbia Investment Management Corp., associate portfolio manager at Genus Capital Management Inc., vice-president of research at Canadian Urban Ltd., senior vice-president of research and strategy at LaSalle Investment Management and director of research at the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board. She joins Aon from global real assets consulting company RealAlts, where she has been an investment consultant since 2008.

Iftikhar Ahmed joins Aon to lead illiquid alternative research . His previous roles include investment banking manager at IGI Investment Bank Ltd., manager of corporate finance and advisory at Rana Investment Co., senior investment office at Alfozan Building Material Co. and director of investments at Al-Raha Group.

“We have a strong research team globally and Catherine and Iftikhar will further strengthen it and help our Canadian clients who continue to see the benefit of illiquid alternatives as asset classes,” said Ian Struthers, investment consulting practice director in Canada.
