C.D. Howe Institute appoints de Bever

The C.D. Howe Institute has appointed Leo de Bever as a senior fellow of the institute and a member of its national council.

“Leo de Bever is one of Canada’s most insightful economists and asset managers,” says William Robson, the institute’s president and CEO. “His knowledge, skills and breadth of experience are extraordinary. We have benefited from his advice in the past, and look forward to continued collaboration in his new roles.”

de Bever started his career at the Bank of Canada, and has worked with eight public and private organizations in four countries, including Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan and Manulife Financial.

He was most recently CEO of Alberta Investment Management Corporation. He retired from the organization at the end of last year.
