CPBI honours volunteers

The Canadian Pension & Benefits Institute (CPBI) has presented its 2011 National Volunteer Appreciation Award to Sherry Lee Gregory.

Gregory, director, relationship management for Atlantic Canada with RBC Dexia Investor Services, joined CPBI more than 15 years ago. She has been an active member of the organization, as a member of the Atlantic Regional Council and the national board member representing the Atlantic region.

As CPBI board chair from 2005 to 2007, she took a leadership role in updating the governance and defining roles and responsibilities at both the national and regional levels. She also helped outline the role of the CPBI CEO and helped revamp the format of the national conference. In addition to joining the organizing committee for the 2010 national forum in Halifax, she also helped create the first CPBI Atlantic regional conference.

CPBI regional volunteer awards were also presented to: Derek Gerard (Atlantic); Brian White (Ontario); J, David Tompkins (Manitoba); Kay Robertson (Saskatchewan); Bob Thiessen (Northern Alberta); Clark Dehler (Southern Alberta); and Karen Tomkins (Pacific).
