Former Teachers’ CIO joins Northwater Capital

Neil J. Petroff has joined Northwater Capital Management Inc. as vice-chair.

As part of his role, he will provide Fluid Strategies with input into the design and development of its bespoke liquid alternative investment solutions.

Prior to joining Northwater, Petroff was executive vice-president of investments and chief investment officer with the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, where he was responsible for all aspects of the firm’s investment activities as well as the pension fund’s asset mix and risk allocations.

In 2014, Petroff was recognized as Chief Investment Officer of the Year, and he received the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award at the Industry Innovation Awards ceremony.
