Former VW CEO may get US$32-million pension

Martin Winterkorn, Volkswagen’s former CEO, amassed a US$32-million pension before he stepped down on Wednesday, Bloomberg News reports.

The most recent annual report “doesn’t describe any conditions that would lead the company to withhold it.”

And he can also collect severance equal to two years of remuneration under certain circumstances, the news agency says. He received a total of €16.6 million in compensation last year.
