Franklin Templeton Investments promotes Matthew Williams

Franklin Templeton Investments Corp. has promoted Matthew Williams to head of institutional and client service for Canada.

He joined the organization more than three years ago and was most recently head of defined contribution and retirement for Canada. With 20 years of experience in wealth and institutional investment management, Williams previously worked with a global asset manager in Australia, Hong Kong and Bangkok.

Williams will report to Duane Green, managing director for Canada, who will become president and chief executive officer on Feb. 1, 2017.

“Providing advisors and clients with specialized products and services to address their changing needs and challenges is a dedicated focus for our firm,” said Green. “With more than two decades of experience . . . Matt’s leadership is fundamental to growing our business in Canada as the marketplace and distribution models evolve.”
