Investec appoints Katherine Tweedie head for Canada

Investec Asset Management Ltd. has appointed Katherine Tweedie country head for Canada. 

In the new role, Tweedie will be responsible for developing the firm’s strategic partnerships with institutional investors in Canada.

“I believe Investec Asset Management’s global suite of investment solutions and unique emerging market heritage provide a strong platform to build long-term partnerships with Canada’s institutions,” said Tweedie, in a news release.

Since joining Investec in 2012, Tweedie founded the Investec Investment Institute, which she continues to oversee as executive director. Her previous roles include director and head of Africa for the World Economic Forum where she was responsible for chief executive officer and government engagement, as well as the forum’s regional initiatives. She began her career in investment banking and private equity in Toronto with BMO Nesbitt Burns Inc. and CIBC Capital Markets Inc.
