LaSalle appoints new CEO for Canadian business

LaSalle Investment Management has appointed John McKinlay as chief executive officer of LaSalle Canada, effective Aug. 9, 2016.

In his new role, McKinlay will manage all aspects to the business in Canada, including investment performance, product development and investor relations. He’ll lead the 19-person team in Toronto.

Most recently, McKinlay served as executive vice-president of acquisitions for Canada at Bentall Kennedy in Toronto. He managed a team of seven, covering the Canadian market, and originated more than $5 billion in acquisitions, dispositions and mixed-use development projects. Before Bentall Kennedy, McKinlay worked at GE Capital Corp. in Toronto in the area of real estate asset management and transactions.

Outgoing CEO Zelick Altman will move to the role of executive chairman and will remain president of LaSalle Canadian income and growth funds.
