Liptrap to succeed Torrie as Morneau Shepell CEO

Morneau Shepell Ltd.’s president and chief executive officer Alan Torrie will retire May 5, 2017 and Stephen Liptrap, the current chief operating officer, will step into the role.

Torrie has been with the company for 12 years and, according to chair of the board Jill Denham, has produced strong revenues while expanding Morneau Shepell’s presence in the market.

“Notably, Alan has built a strong executive team with deep bench strength, enabling the company to transition to a new leader seamlessly,” said Denham in a news release.

Prior to joining the company, he was vice-president of human resources at Conagra Brands Inc., a North American packaged foods company, and NCR Corp., a computer company in the United States.

“With Stephen’s combination of a strong commitment to our employees, his business skills, deep expertise in the HR field, his exceptional leadership skills and his trusted relationships with our clients, I am very confident in the company’s future,” said Torrie.
