Minimum wage goes up in several provinces

Minimum wage earners in all three Prairie provinces, along with Ontario and Newfoundland and Labrador are getting a pay hike today.

The new minimum wage employers must pay their workers in Alberta will be a buck higher at $11.20 per hour, while Saskatchewan and Manitoba will each bump up their minimum wages by 30 cents to $10.50 and 11-dollars an hour respectively.

The general minimum wage in Ontario rises today by 25 cents an hour, to $11.25.

Newfoundland and Labrador will also bump the rate today by 25 cents to $10.50.
