Morneau Shepell partners with Allianz for expat support

Morneau Shepell has partnered with Allianz Worldwide Care to provide health and wellness support to expatriate employees around the world.

The Dublin-based international health and life insurance company already provides many group assistance programs for expats, such as medical evacuation and shipment of prescribed drugs, among other things. The partnership would make custom health and wellness programs another core component of these services.

“Today’s global employees are traveling, living and working in increasingly demanding environments,” said Alexis Obligi, director of sales and marketing at Allianz Worldwide Care, in a news release. “The strain isn’t always obvious to employers yet they have to be more alert than ever. Stress-related illness, addiction, mental-health issues and traumatic stress disorders are now the most common causes of long-term absenteeism and poor productivity.”

“Through Morneau Shepell’s worldwide network, Allianz will be providing access to immediate and confidential, culturally relevant counseling 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year,” said Stephen Liptrap, executive vice president and general manager at Morneau Shepell. “We recognize the unique needs of expats and their families, wherever in the world they reside.”
