New minister appointed to oversee ORPP

The Ontario Retirement Pension Plan has a new minister in charge following Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne’s cabinet shuffle today.

Among the moves was the appointment of Indira Naidoo-Harris as associate minister of finance. The move means Naidoo-Harris, MPP for Halton, is now responsible for the ORPP. She replaces Mitzie Hunter, who was the MPP for Scarborough-Guildwood.

First elected in 2014, Naidoo-Harris worked as a CBC TV journalist before getting into politics. Born in South Africa, she has received numerous awards for her work and volunteerism.
