OPSEU Pension Trust (OPTrust) has opened an office in Sydney, Australia, to focus on infrastructure and private equity investments across Asia.
The pension fund has relocated managing director Stan Kolenc and portfolio manager Morgan McCormick to Sydney from London, the firm’s only other office outside Canada.
OPTrust’s private markets program was launched in 2006 to build a globally diversified private equity and infrastructure portfolio.
Under OPTrust’s long-term diversification strategy, each of these portfolios will eventually account for 15% of the plan’s assets or 30% in total.
