Jan K. Grude will take over as president and CEO of Pacific Blue Cross later this year.
He will succeed Kenneth G. Martin who plans to retire on Sept. 30, 2013. Martin has led the company for 10 years and has worked in the health benefits and insurance industry for 42 years.
Grude has more than 25 years of experience and previously served as the CEO of Healthcare Benefit Trust.
Prior to that, he was president and executive managing director of Buck Consultants. He was also president of Mellon Financial’s Canadian operations, national managing partner of Watson Wyatt & Company Canada and a partner at Ernst & Young.
