TD chief economist moving to C.D. Howe Institute

TD chief economist Craig Alexander is leaving to join the C.D. Howe Institute.

He’ll take on the role of vice-president, economic analysis on Sept. 14, 2015.

Alexander will provide oversight of the Institute’s research councils and will advance the firm’s work as it relates to economic and social policy.

“Craig is one of Canada’s preeminent economists and public policy analysts. He has an outstanding reputation among his peers, in the business community, and among policymakers,” says C.D. Howe Institute president and CEO William Robson. “His analytical abilities and his expertise on a range of issues will make him a tremendous asset.”

Alexander has previously worked as an economist at CIBC World Markets, RBC Capital Markets and Statistics Canada.
