Pension plans from the Université Sainte-Anne in Church Point, N.S., and the University of King’s College in Halifax have transferred into the Public Service Superannuation Plan.
These additions bring 225 active members and 132 retired and deferred members into the PSSP.

“The trustee’s guiding principles for these transfers have been that a transfer into the PSSP must be beneficial to the long-term sustainability of the PSSP and cost neutral to its members,” said Ron Smith, chair of the trustee, in a statement. “All analysis of the USA Plan transfer and the King’s Plan transfer met these conditions.”
The trustee aims to further grow its membership as part of its long-term sustainability plan and has begun discussions with other public sector employers about joining the plan.
The Acadia University pension plan joined the PSSP last year, which added 411 active members and 226 retired members.
