Great-West Life rolls out financial wellness pilot project

Great-West Life is piloting an online financial program with about 5,000 plan members aimed at improving their financial outcomes.

The program, called Wayfinder, allows plan members to combine their workplace retirement plans with their individual savings so they can see the effect on their retirement and savings goals, providing them with a big picture of their total savings.

“What’s behind it is our belief in working with sponsors and members to develop the most innovative financial wellness experience they can have,” says Jeff Aarssen, senior vice-president of group retirement services for Great-West Life. “It’s going to focus not just on their own group retirement plan but at their choice and their pace, allows them to aggregate their other retirement savings opportunities in one place and look at them in a more effective way.”

Results from the pilot, which will end in the spring of 2017, are expected to be used to enhance and expand the offerings, guiding Great-West Life to a broader launch.
