Charissa’s appointment as Director, Institutional Private Markets strengthens Fidelity Canada Institutional’s commitment to build its alternative platform.
Fidelity Canada Institutional has appointed Charissa Lai as Director, Institutional Private Markets. Charissa will be instrumental in advancing the firm’s alternatives strategy and building momentum in this rapidly growing area.

Charissa brings strong private markets expertise from leading institutions, including Canada Pension Plan Investments (CPP Investments). Her experience spans funds, secondaries, co-investments, and portfolio construction. She began her career in investment banking at Morgan Stanley.
Charissa is a CFA charterholder and published author in the CFA Financial Analysts Journal. She holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and serves on the Investment Committee of the Women’s College Hospital Foundation.
