Manulife Financial has been contracted by Canada Post to implement its absence solution product for their national disability management program.
It represents the largest sale ever for the insurance company’s group benefits business and the biggest in the benefits industry in more than a decade.
To service the contract, Manulife has opened a new absence management solutions office in Ottawa, in addition to expanding in four other offices across Canada.
“This business partnership is a great opportunity for Canada Post to align its disability-management program with industry best practices and to provide employees high quality support during times of illness or injury,” says Canada Post’s Nicole Goodfellow, general manager, human performance excellence.
Canada Post is one of the country’s largest employers with 60,000 employees and 7,000 post offices, the largest retail network in the country.
