BenefitsRx offers home delivery service

BenefitsRX is offering a home delivery pharmacy program.

“When integrated with other [pharmacy benefit management] services from BenefitsRx, home delivery can increase compliance, the use of generics and adherence to formulary structures,” notes company president Paul Clark.

Using an integrated home delivery pharmacy provider, BenefitsRx says benefits managers have shown that they can increase generic prescription fill rates to 85% compared with the slightly more than 60% national average through the retail pharmacy channel.

The Canadian Generic Pharmaceutical Association estimates that private plans would save $140 million for every one percentage gain in the generic fill rate.

For plan sponsors, home delivery is an important element of an overall strategy for improving patient care and controlling plan costs. The company says an effective home delivery program can save plan sponsors as much as 20% on their pharmacy benefit spend.
