Shepell•fgi offers video counselling

Shepell·fgi’s counselling is going virtual.

The company now offers employee assistance program (EAP) support via video counselling, enabling face-to-face conversations to be conducted remotely.

The individual and counsellor communicate via webcam, telephone (or microphone) and Internet connection. Shepell·fgi assures clients that security measures are in place to preserve the confidentiality of any data exchanged and that the service meets the EAP Council on Accreditation’s standards.

The service builds upon Shepell·fgi’s recently launched First Chat—an online chat consultation service that provides employees with instant counselling support. The video counselling program was pre-launched over the summer with a sampling of existing clients who gave it 100% satisfaction rates.

“With so many people not receiving the mental health care they need in our country,” says Rita Fridella, senior vice-president, operations and chief clinician for Shepell·fgi, “it’s important that we see these individuals in the moment and provide treatment, allowing them to get back to living fulfilled and productive lives.”
