The Investment Management Corp. of Ontario is appointing Patrick De Roy to the newly created role of senior managing director of total portfolio and capital markets.

Most recently, De Roy held the position of head of global research at the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec, where he also previously led portfolio construction, economics and currency management. Between 2014 and 2016, he was a partner and investment practice leader at Eckler Ltd. and was an institutional portfolio manager for fixed income at Fidelity Investments.

Based out of the IMCO’s Toronto office, De Roy will report to IMCO’s chief investment officer, Jean Michel. “Patrick is uniquely qualified to drive the creation of IMCO’s total portfolio and capital markets group,” said Michel, in a press release. “His deep expertise across functions, including asset allocation, foreign exchange management, liquidity, leverage, management of public market alternatives and fixed income, made him a clear choice to lead this team.”
