BENEFITS CANADA IS ACCEPTING NOMINATIONS FOR THE 2021 WORKPLACE BENEFITS AWARDS IN THE FOLLOWING CATEGORIES:

Award category descriptions

Absence management

This award recognizes an organization that has developed best practices in absence management processes for employees. Candidates will be judged on innovation, clarity, ease of use, compliance, impact on productivity, cost controls and impact on employees.

Whether the employer reacted and solved an absence issue within its workforce population or instituted a proactive approach in prevention, both solutions will be considered.

 

Diversity program

This award recognizes an employer that has successfully undertaken efforts to be more inclusive and/or boost diversity among its workforce. This can include programs to increase workplace diversity and efforts to be more inclusive in regards to a benefits or pension plan through communications or other changes.

 

Benefits plan communications

This award recognizes an organization that has developed innovative and effective strategies for communicating a benefits initiative to its employees.

Candidates will be judged on innovation, plan outcomes and overall impact.

 

Pension plan communications

This award recognizes an organization that has developed innovative and effective strategies for communicating a pension plan initiative to its employees.

Candidates will be judged on innovation, plan outcomes and overall impact.

 

Mental health

This award recognizes an employer that has developed a creative and effective mental health initiative to support and encourage the psychological well-being of its employees.

Candidates will be judged on creativity, effectiveness, communication strategy and overall impact.

 

Financial wellness program

This award recognizes an employer that has excelled in creating a financial wellness/education program for employees

 

Health/wellness program (<1,000 employees)

This award recognizes an organization that has developed an innovative and effective health or wellness program, demonstrating improved health outcomes for employees.

Candidates will be judged on innovation, effectiveness, impact and demonstrated ROI.

 

Health/wellness program (1,000+ employees)

This award recognizes an organization that has developed an innovative and effective health or wellness program, demonstrating improved health outcomes for employees.

Candidates will be judged on innovation, effectiveness, impact and demonstrated ROI.

 

Drug/benefits plan innovation

This award recognizes an employer that has embarked on a successful benefits or drug plan strategy or innovation that resulted in measurable results such as reduced absenteeism, cost containment, improved health, employee engagement and positive return on investment. Candidates will be judged on innovation, effectiveness and overall impact.

 

Coronavirus and benefits

The award recognizes an organization that has developed an innovative and effective strategy for managing its benefits or pension plan during the pandemic and supporting its employees.

 

Industry Professional of the Year

This award recognizes a leading individual who is demonstrably active and engaged in shaping the future direction of the benefits and/or pension industry.

 

Pension Performance

This award recognizes an employer that has achieved outstanding success with its defined benefit or defined contribution pension plan. Success can include cost containment, greater participation and engagement, sound governance, improved sustainability and proactive efforts to address decumulation. It can also include a successful investment program that led to excellent results and innovative approaches to the plan and/or the overall design.
