The provincial government has appointed Brian Gibson as the new chair of the Investment Management Corp. of Ontario’s board of directors, effective immediately.
Gibson is a director at Precision Drilling Corp. and Samuel, Sons & Company Ltd. He also serves on the advisory board of Kruger Inc. and is the chair of the CFA Institute’s corporate disclosure policy committee.

“I am honoured to assume the role of chair as IMCO continues to build on the success it has achieved so far,” said Gibson, in a press release. “I look forward to working closely with the board of directors and president and [chief executive officer] Bert Clark, and his management team, as IMCO pursues its mandate to achieve the long-term investment objectives of its public sector clients.”
Gibson also brings past experience as a senior vice-president at the Alberta Investment Management Corp. and at the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan.
