Hugh O’Reilly joins board of Canadian Coalition for Good Governance

OPSEU Pension Trust president and chief executive officer Hugh O’Reilly has joined the board of directors of the Canadian Coalition for Good Governance.

The coalition’s members include pension funds, mutual funds, third-party money managers and other institutional investors that invest in publicly listed Canadian companies. Together, members manage about $3 trillion in assets. OPTrust’s executive members have been participating on the board and committees since 2005.

The coalition encourages good governance practices in Canadian public companies and works to ensure regulations align with long-term shareholders’ best interests.

“I’m honoured to have the opportunity to serve on the board of directors at the CCGG,” O’Reilly said in a statement. “OPTrust believes good governance practices support stronger long-term performance and enhance value. These outcomes align very closely with the interests of our members and I’m looking forward to contributing to the excellent work done by the CCGG in this regard.”
