ICPM appoints new associate director of research

The International Centre for Pension Management has appointed Mikhail Sumutin as its associate director of research.

Simutin, an associate professor of finance at the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management, will drive the organization’s research programs and grow its position as a global pension research hub, according to a press release.

“ICPM is honoured to have Mike join our team,” said Rob Bauer, executive director of the International Centre for Pension Management. “We are confident that Mike will champion ICPM’s research initiatives and strengthen our position as a global research hub. We look forward to his contributions to ICPM’s global pension research mandate and enriching future discussion forums.”

A professor at the Rotman School since 2010, Simutin’s own research primarily focuses on studying institutional money management and understanding risks that affect asset prices. His current work extends to the area of corporate finance, where he is studying the gender pay gap in a corporate setting.
