Ontario Teachers’ appoints two new executives

The Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan has made two new appointments to its executive team.

Gillian Brown, who joined the pension fund in 1995, is senior managing director of capital markets. Her previous roles at Ontario Teachers’ include equity trader, portfolio manager and managing director of insurance linked, credit and equity products.

Stephen McLennan is senior managing director of total fund management, a newly created role. He was most recently head of natural resources at Ontario Teachers’. Prior to joining the pension fund, he worked on Merrill Lynch Wealth Management’s investment banking team in Calgary.

“I am pleased to announce these promotions from within, which again demonstrate the depth of our talent pool,” said Ziad Hindo, chief investment officer at Ontario Teachers’, in a press release. “Stephen and Gillian are great additions to the investment executive team, and I am sure that their leadership, investment acumen and strategic thinking will help underpin our mission to pay pensions for generations to come with long-term, stable and sustainable returns.”
