The British Columbia Investment Management Corp. is appointing Ken Bennett as strategic advisor for its private equity program, effective immediately.
In the new role, he’s tasked with overseeing long-term value creation activities in the BCI’s private equity global portfolio and managing strategic partnerships with current and prospective management teams. As part of the appointment, he’s also joining the board of BMS Group, a specialty insurance and reinsurance broker in the U.K. that’s backed by the BCI.

Bennett is the first of several senior advisors the investment organization plans to hire alongside the existing investment team, said Jim Pittman, executive vice-president and global head of private equity at the BCI, in a press release.
“He will be a key asset to the BMS board and his deep operating expertise, board-level insight and unparalleled experience in insurance and reinsurance will further strengthen our value creation model, governance and alignment across our portfolio.”
