Bentall Kennedy has launched a new real estate investment fund, which will be available only to members of DC pension and savings plans provided by Sun Life Financial.
The Canadian Real Estate Plus fund provides exposure to direct commercial real estate investments.
“This is an exciting new venture for us,” says Gary Whitelaw, CEO of the Bentall Kennedy group of companies. “This new vehicle gives us the opportunity to meet the needs of group retirement plan members in the same way.”
The Canadian Real Estate Plus portfolio will primarily be allocated to a $3.5-billion diversified portfolio of Canadian commercial real estate managed by Bentall Kennedy.
This real estate portfolio has been open only to institutional investors since its inception in 1983, and the fund is the first product that allows group retirement plan members access to these institutional-quality investments.
