The office of the chief actuary is seeking an external peer review panel for its next actuarial report on the Canada Pension Plan.

The external peer review is intended to ensure the report — to be released in December 2022 — meets high professional standards and is based on reasonable methods and assumptions, according to a press release.

The review will be conducted by individuals who are fellows of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries, as well as possibly one other fully qualified actuary, said the release, which noted the U.K. government actuary’s department will assist in the selection of the panel members and will also provide an independent opinion of the review.

Applications for the panel are requested by July 15, 2022.
