Ontario PC leader would axe the ORPP

Ontario Progressive Conservative leader Patrick Brown said the party not only opposes the provincial Liberal government’s plan for the Ontario Retirement Pension Plan, but they’d undo it if they’re elected in 2018, the Ottawa Citizen reports.

In an interview at the Progressive Conservative convention in Ottawa over the weekend, Brown called the ORPP a bad idea, a job-killer and a tax Ontarians can’t afford.

In its 2016 budget on Feb. 25, the Ontario government reaffirmed its commitment to the ORPP and said more details will be made available in the spring.
