The Ontario Pension Board is appointing Joanna Carson as chief financial officer, effective Nov. 10.
In the role, she’ll oversee the OPB’s corporate finance, procurement, enterprise risk management and pension payroll functions. Carson will take over the role from Armand de Kemp, who’s retiring this year.

She previously held finance leadership positions at the British Columbia Financial Services Authority, Canada’s national particle accelerator centre TRIUMF and was audit committee chair with the University of British Columbia’s Staff Pension Plan.
“Carson has worked closely with [chief executives] and executive teams, serving as a key strategy advisor to drive transformation and deliver on organizational mandates and she has extensive experience working with boards and audit and finance committees,” said Darwin Bozek, president and chief executive officer at the OPB, in a press release
