Morneau Shepell launches new EAP component

Morneau Shepell, under its Shepell•fgi brand, is offering a new program to help improve employee health, personal development and career growth.

The new program, Echo, features kits that contain information, tips and resources targeted to stressful life events. These events include becoming a new employee, going on maternity leave, returning to work after maternity leave, dealing with teenage children and turning 50 years old.

Also included in the kits is access to customized online financial programs. These programs give employees financial information relevant to their specified life event with the ability to create a personalized financial plan. Kits are delivered confidentially to employees’ homes.

“Employees want to feel appreciated and supported by their organization in times of personal challenge,” said Stephen Liptrap, executive vice-president of Morneau Shepell and general manager of Shepell•fgi. “This is even more important than compensation and opportunity. In our commitment to supporting each and every employee, we see that people need help addressing life changes before they actually become challenges.”

According to The Conference Board of Canada, more than half of all employees fear that disclosing personal issues and challenges will negatively affect their career advancement. Employees who feel supported by their organization are more likely to be more productive, loyal and engaged, according to Morneau Shepell.

Echo is available as an addition to existing employee assistance programs or as a stand-alone support program for organizations.
