The Alberta Investment Management Corp. is permanently appointing Ray Gilmour as the organization’s chief executive officer, a role he has held on an interim basis since Nov. 8, 2024.

Gilmour was appointed to the role after former CEO Evan Siddall and the AIMCo’s board of directors were fired by Alberta Finance Minister Nate Horner, who cited rising management fees coupled with a consistent failure to meet mandated benchmark returns.

Prior to joining the AIMCo, Gilmour was Alberta’s Deputy Minister of Executive Council for more than five years. He has also held senior positions in the Alberta government, including Deputy Minister roles in finance, inter-governmental relations and infrastructure. Prior to these roles in government, he worked in the banking and financial services industry for 15 years.
