British Columbia’s college, public service and teachers’ pension plans have appointed Claude Marchessault as executive director, effective Mar. 1, 2017.
A pension lawyer with experience in pension plan design, governance and fiduciary issues, Marchessault most recently practised with Dentons Canada LLP’s pension, benefits and executive compensation group in Vancouver.
He was also a faculty member for the Centre for Employee Benefits at Humber College in Toronto for more than 20 years and served as a sessional lecturer for the faculty of law at the University of Victoria.
As executive director, Marchessault will continue his career-long technique of “building bridges and creating collaboration among stakeholders,” according to a release.
