The Canada Pension Plan Investment Board is appointing Judy Wade as managing director and head of the San Francisco offices it set up in August 2019.
In her new role, Wade will lead the CPPIB’s expansion into the Bay Area, furthering its presence in the U.S. In addition, Adam Grosser will join Wade in the San Francisco office in the role of senior advisor.
“Judy’s deep connections within Silicon Valley, as well as rich experience serving leading disruptors and their investors, will help accelerate our growth strategy in the U.S.,” said Alain Carrier, senior managing director and head of international at the CPPIB, in a press release.
Most recently, Wade was the venture leader for management consulting firm McKinsey & Co. Prior to that role, she was chief executive officer of game developer Hands-On Entertainment and health-care technology company AliveCor.
Meanwhile, Grosser joins the CPPIB from his position as group head and managing director at private equity firm Silver Lake Partners. “Adam’s international expertise across tech sectors further strengthens our existing team while establishing new relationships in Silicon Valley,” said Carrier.
