Two new members appointed to CPPIB board

The federal government has appointed Ashleigh Everett and John Montalbano to the board of directors of the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board.

The appointments are for three years.

Everett is currently the president, corporate secretary and director of Royal Canadian Securities Ltd., a real estate developer in Winnipeg. She also serves on the board of directors of Manitoba Telecom Services, is chair of its governance and nominating committee and is a member of its human resources and compensation committee. Everett previously served on the board of directors at the Bank of Nova Scotia and as chair of its corporate governance and pension committee. She also served as a member of its executive and risk as well as its human resources committees.

Montalbano served as chief executive officer of RBC Global Asset Management from 2008-15 and was previously president of Phillips Hager and North Investment Management Ltd. He previously served as vice-chairman of RBC Wealth Management and as a director on the corporate boards of BlueBay Asset Management LLP, RBC Global Asset Management Inc., Tologix Software Inc., Sky Investment Counsel Inc. and Phillips Hager and North Investment Management.
