HumanaCare acquires virtual health-care platform

Employee health services company HumanaCare has acquired Toronto-based virtual health platform TranQool.

In addition to delivering health care virtually, the acquisition will allow HumanaCare to expand its existing employee assistance programs, medical second opinion, disability support, caregiving and health-care navigation and chronic disease management services, according to its president, Jamie Marcellus.

“We are excited about joining the HumanaCare team,” said Saeed Zeinali, co-founder of TranQool, in a press release. “The TranQool platform will provide HumanaCare members with chat and video access to counsellors and health-care professionals.
