McCarthy Tétrault names new partner in pension, benefits group

Deron Waldock has joined McCarthy Tétrault LLP as a partner in its national pension, benefits and compensation group, working out of the firm’s Toronto office.

“Deron is a great addition to our firm,” said Randy Bauslaugh, leader of the firm’s national pensions, benefits and executive compensation group, in a news release. “This area of law is complex and continues to evolve. Deron will provide the leadership and knowledge we wanted to ensure we continue to provide the very best guidance and advice to our clients across the country.”

With more than 20 years of experience in the design, administration, operation and compliance of pension plans, Waldock was previously a senior vice-president in Aon’s Canadian legal consulting practice, a partner at Blake Cassels & Graydon LLP and Bennett Jones LLP and an associate at Osler Hoskin & Harcourt LLP.
