The Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec has appointed Édouard Merette as managing director, Asia-Pacific.
He will be based in Singapore, where the Caisse will open an office by the end of the year.
Before joining the Caisse, Merette was CEO, Asia-Pacific, with Aon Hewitt.
He also worked for Mercer for more than 20 years as a member of its global management committee and oversaw operations in Europe, Asia and Canada.
“With Mr. Merette’s vast experience and extensive network in Asia, the Caisse will be better positioned to identify the right partners and act on sound investment opportunities in these growth markets,” says Michael Sabia, president and CEO of the Caisse. “We require in-depth knowledge of these markets and are therefore recruiting top talent and experts, wherever they may be in the world.”
