Ivanhoé Cambridge and partner to build Texas office tower

Ivanhoé Cambridge, the real estate investment arm of the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec, in partnership with Texas-based international real estate firm Hines Interests Ltd. Partnership, is breaking ground on a 47-storey office tower in Houston.

The building, which is expected to be open in late 2021, already has two anchor tenants.

“We are very proud to partner again with Hines in a project that will set a new standard for downtown Houston and beyond,” said Daniel Fournier, chairman and chief executive officer at Ivanhoé Cambridge, in a press release. “Hines has demonstrated over and over again why they are the best at what they do; this project promises to deliver even more.”

The design of the building aims to feature an innovative workplace, including space for multiple food and beverage vendors, networking space, a conference centre, a fitness centre and public gardens on the twelfth floor, noted Jeff Hines, president and chief executive officer at Hines. It will include parking for 1,500 cars in an indoor 11-level garage.

“We are excited to not only be building it, but also to move our headquarters there. And, we are proud to once again partner with Ivanhoé Cambridge, with whom we have enjoyed a number of successful partnerships in cities such as Chicago, Toronto and Paris,” said Hines.
