Great-West Life’s Jeff Aarssen to retire

After a 38-year career, Jeff Aarssen is retiring from his role as senior-vice president of group customer sales at the Great-West Life Assurance Co.

“Jeff has made an indelible mark on our sales organization, achieving incredible results while establishing a deep respect from his peers and his teams, as well as advisors and consultants across the country,” said Rob DeMott, senior vice-president of business development, in an email to staff.

Aarssen joined the London Life Insurance Co. as a group representative in 1980 and then moved up the ladder to become Great-West Life’s leader of group retirement services in 2014 and assume his current role last year. Spending 38 years with one company speaks to the type of employer Great-West Life is, says Aarssen.

Aarssen will retire from Great-West Life on Sept. 1, 2018. “Lots of travel plans, lots of golf plans and I’m excited to get to spend more time with my grandchildren,” says Aarssen.
