Lipper hands out the hardware

This year’s Lipper Fund Awards saw Dynamic Funds coming out on top, winning the most individual fund trophies, with 16 across 14 categories.

In the Canadian Dividend and Equity category, The Hartford Canadian Dividend Growth (Series B) took top honours for the 1-year period, while Bissett Canadian Dividend (Series A) took the 3-year period prize, and Fidelity Dividend (Series A) got the nod for the 5-year period. The 10-year period award went to the RBC Canadian Dividend (Series A).

In the Canadian Equity category, top honors went to the RBC O’Shaughnessy All-Canadian Equity (Series A) for the 1-year period. The 3-year award went to the DFA Canadian Core Equity (Class A), and the 5-year to BlackRock Asset Management Canada’s FERIQUE Equity Fund. The award for the 10-year period went to Multi Managers’ SEI Canadian Equity (Class O) fund.

The Dynamic Diversified Real Asset (Series A) took the Canadian Equity Balanced category prize for the 1-year period, while the 3-year award went to Barometer Capital Management’s Lakeview Disciplined Leadership High Income (Series A). The 5-year award went to the Fidelity Income Allocation (Series A), and the 10-year to the TD Monthly Income Investor Series fund.

Desjardins earned the top spot for the 1-year period in the Canadian Fixed Income category with its Enhanced Bond (Class A). The Beutel Goodman Income fund swept top honours for the 3-year, 5-year and 10-year periods.

In the Emerging Markets Equity category, the 1-year award went to Mackenzie Cundill Emerging Markets Value Class (Series A). Brandes Emerging Markets Equity (Class A) took the 3-year award, and Templeton BRIC Corporate Class (Series A) took the 5-year award. The top prize for the 10-year period went to AGF Emerging Markets.

The 1-year award in the Global Equity category went to the Dynamic Power Global Growth Class (Series A). The Hartford Global Leaders (Series B) won the 3-year prize, and the TD Entertainment & Communications Investor Series fund the 5-year. The Mackenzie Cundill Value (Series A) took the top spot for the 10-year period.

The Dynamic EAFE Value Class (Series A) came out on top in the International Equity category for the 1-year period. The Mawer World Investment (Class A) took top honours for the 3-year, 5-year and 10-year periods.

In the Greater China Equity category, Pro-Financial Asset Management’s Pro FTSE RAFI Hong Kong China Index (Class A) took won the 1-year award, while CIBC Asset Management’s Renaissance China Plus (Class A) took the top spot for the 3-year period.

Dynamic dominated the US Equity category, winning three of the four awards. The Dynamic Power American Currency Neutral (Series A) took top honours for the 1-year period; the 5-year and 10-year awards went to the Dynamic American Value (Series A). The 3-year award went to the CIBC Nasdaq Index fund.

The TD US Mid-Cap Growth Investor Series fund claimed the 5-year and 10-year awards in the US Small/Mid Cap Equity category. The Mackenzie Universal US Emerging Growth (Class A) fund won the 3-year award, while the 1-year award went to the RBC O’Shaughnessy US Growth II fund.
