Manulife Canada CEO appointed chair of LL Global board

Michael Doughty, president and chief executive officer of Manulife Financial Corp.’s Canadian operations, will take on the role of chair of LL Global Inc.’s board of directors for 2018.

He succeeds Rino D’Onofrio, president and chief executive officer of RBC Life Insurance Co., in the role.

The LL Global board provides oversight and guidance to LIMRA and LOMA, two organizations that provide research and education programs for companies in the financial services and insurance industries.

“The LL global board of directors continues to exhibit dedication and willingness to serve for the advancement of the industry,” said Robert Kerzner, president and chief executive officer or LIMRA, LOMA and LL Global. “We need executives like these to help guide this very important industry association through these turbulent times of regulatory uncertainty and changing business models.”

In other news, Andrea Perry, senior client relationship manager for the Atlantic region of Northern Trust Co., is joining the board of the Association of Canadian Pension Management. Perry will serve a three-year term as a representative of the Atlantic region on the board.

“Andrea’s experience and extensive relationships in Canada’s retirement industry will be a tremendous asset as we enlist the talent and resources of our national volunteer member base to advocate on behalf of Canadian plan sponsors, administrators and their service providers,” said Michel Jalbert, chair of the association’s board of directors.
