Morneau Shepell founder retires after 52 years

W.F. (Frank) Morneau Sr., the founder of Morneau Shepell Ltd. and father of federal Minister of Finance Bill Morneau, retired from the company on Tuesday.

Morneau Sr., who was most recently honorary chair, founded W.F. Morneau & Associates in 1966, and has held a number of roles over the past 52 years, including chief executive officer and director. He has also served on several corporate and charitable boards, such as the Providence Healthcare Foundation, Sunnybrook and Women’s Foundation and the Newman Foundation at the University of Toronto, among others. 

“As CEO or director, Frank has presided over the remarkable growth of this company,” said Jill Denham, the company’s chair of the board. ”He became a respected and influential business leader in Canada. He is an active community leader, leading many charitable causes and changing the lives of those less fortunate in our great city. We all wish him continued good health, happiness and plenty of time to enjoy his family and his pursuits as he looks to the future.”
