People Watch: Eckler names new resident scholar

Eckler Ltd. has named researcher Bonnie-Jeanne MacDonald as its new resident scholar. 

MacDonald, an actuary and researcher at Dalhousie University, drew attention in 2014 when she pioneered the living standard replacement rate as a way of measuring retirement income adequacy. Eckler has since used MacDonald’s research to create it own retirement plan management tool.

In other news, Anthony Guindon has rejoined Koskie Minsky LLP’s pensions and benefits practice after serving four years in government and industry roles.

From 2013-15, Guindon worked in the pension policy branch of the Ontario Ministry of Finance, where he advised the government on pension policy matters, particularly with respect to distressed pension plans, and assisted in the development of regulations under the Pensions Benefits Act. Afterwards, he spent two years as a consultant at Willis Towers Watson.
