Three new senior appointments at the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan include new roles for Gillian Brown, Danilo Simonelli and Saurabh Rastogi.

Brown will lead the pension fund’s capital markets group as senior managing director. The team manages total fund exposure to a number of asset classes, including equity, fixed income, credit and inflation sensitive.

Since joining the Ontario Teachers’ in 1995, Brown has been managing director of credit, insurance-linked securities and equity products, as well as director of derivative strategies and trading for the plan’s tactical asset allocation and natural resources department.

Simonelli, who has been promoted to managing director of alternative investments, joined the Ontario Teachers’ in 2005 as a senior investment analyst. He’s held various positions, including director of emerging markets and director of fixed income and currencies. Most recently, Simonelli was director of alternative investments.

Rastogi will be the pension fund’s managing director of liquidity and counterparty credit risk management. Before joining in 2017 as head of liquidity and counterparty risk, he was senior vice-president of balance sheet, liquidity and pension risk at CIBC. Before that, he was the bank’s managing director of the office of the chief investment officer for wholesale banking.
