T. Rowe Price launches pooled investment vehicle

A new pooled investment vehicle within T. Rowe Price Inc.’s global focused growth equity strategy is now available to Canadian institutional investors.

The fourth pooled investment vehicle the investment management firm has launched in Canada in the past 18 months, the T. Rowe Price global focused growth equity pool joins an existing suite that includes international concentrated equity and U.S. large-cap core growth equity.

The launch “reflects the increasing demand we are seeing from Canadian defined contribution institutional investors and consultants for our portfolios,” said Bruce Winch, head of sales for T. Rowe Price (Canada), in a news release. “We expect to introduce more pooled funds to the market based on client demand.”

The features of the global focused growth equity pool include:

  • It has been designed for long-term investors and requires $5 million initial investment;
  • Its objective is to achieve long-term capital growth by investing in a focused number of stocks sourced from developed and emerging markets and across the market capitalization spectrum;
  • Its portfolio is constructed primarily using a bottom-up research process and consists of typically 60-80 high-conviction stocks with improving fundamentals and strong growth prospects; and
  • Its primary benchmark is the MSCI All Country World Index.
