Art Babcock retiring from Aon

Art Babcock is retiring after more than 40 years in the Canadian group benefits industry.

In 1974, he started his career at the Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. of Canada. After six years in personal insurance, he moved over to group benefits as manager of group insurance and pensions at MetLife. In 1989, Babcock joined the Alexander Consulting Group, which was later purchased by Aon. And in 2016, he was appointed senior vice-president of Aon’s health and benefits practice in Calgary.

During his career, Babcock has also focused on developing young professionals in the industry. He was a national leader of training development at Aon, as well as an instructor in the benefits curriculum at the University of Alberta for more than 20 years.
